OGA-Portal - Logistics Portal for Fruit and Vegetable Marketing Cooperative
Logistics portal for simplifying communication between producers and sellers while supporting order picking processes.

Challenge
Development of a user-friendly portal to optimize logistics processes between agricultural producers and sales, with integration into existing systems and databases.
Solution
Implementation of a modern web application with SvelteKit frontend, PostgreSQL database, self-hosted authentication, and Tailwind CSS for responsive design. The portal has been running successfully for 1.5 years and will continue for at least another year.
About this project
The Obst- und Gemüse-Absatzgenossenschaft Nordbaden eG (OGA) markets the fruit and vegetables of its member producers in Bruchsal, together with its sales organisation OGV. Every season, quantity reports, picking, quality documentation, and funding paperwork move between growers, sales, and the warehouse. FxB developed the OGA portal, a web application that brings this communication onto one platform and supports the cooperative’s order picking processes.
The portal covers the recurring processes between producers and sales:
- Quantity forecasts: producers report expected delivery quantities per product and calendar week, sales works with a live aggregated view
- Picking and logistics: packing lists, direct deliveries, and logistics overviews for the warehouse
- Farm data: master data, crop areas for permanent and seasonal cultures, set-aside land, and yield deviations
- Quality management: photo-documented checks at defined quality gates with tagging and a review workflow
- Funding projects: participations, proof documents, and billing under the EU Common Market Organisation
- Empties and documents: empties reports, file distribution, messages, and Excel and PDF exports for reporting
Architecture
The portal is a SvelteKit application written in TypeScript, backed by a PostgreSQL database accessed through Prisma. Access follows a role model from producer to seller to administration. Authentication and session handling run self-hosted, including email-based password reset, and relevant actions are recorded in an audit log. Status changes and messages reach the participants in real time via Socket.IO, forms are validated with zod, and evaluations can be exported directly as Excel and PDF files.
One constraint shaped the deployment: the portal needs a permanent connection to the cooperative’s existing ERP database. It therefore runs on premises:
- packaged as Docker containers behind an nginx reverse proxy
- separate environments and data for test and production
- documented server installation, from network setup to configuration
Operation
Changes reach production through a CI pipeline on GitHub Actions: automated tests, build verification, and static checks run on every change, and database changes travel along as versioned Prisma migrations. The portal has been in production since 2023 and is continuously extended in close exchange with the cooperative.
The result: quantity reporting, picking, and quality documentation run through one permission-controlled application. Producers enter their data where it is needed, and sales and warehouse work with the same live picture.
